We have a current opening for a Full-time Community Facilitator and a Full time Neighborhood Facilitator. Utilizing strength based practices, facilitators build community awareness for prevention of child abuse and neglect and engage individuals and organizations in promoting child, family and community well-being.

The Community Facilitator works with families to provide resources, mentoring and support to assist parents in creating a more stable environment for their children.

Responsibilities include:

1.       Develop and grow in skills related to Family Team Conferencing, solution-based casework and the provision of support services for families referred for   prevention/diversion services.

2.       Identify and develop traditional and non-traditional community resources and share information within the community including families, and other service providers.

3.       Demonstrate creative, family specific solutions while developing families’ support systems and connecting them to community based services.

4.       Deliver presentations to providers and other groups, network and develop marketing efforts for program services to educate providers and increase referral base.

5.       Build positive relationships with community partners and residents.

6.       Extend excellent customer service to families, referral source and co-workers.

 

Position Requirements:

1.       Must be able to complete a two day new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day

2.       Bachelor’s degree in Human Services/Social Services or related field preferred

3.       Minimum of 2 years’ experience in child welfare, prevention and/or community programs serving children and families or community development

4.       Proficient written and oral communication skills

5.       Excellent presentation skills, networking and marketing program services to increase referrals

6.       Excellent Customer Service skills, good interpersonal and organizational skills, diplomatic assertiveness w/ a goal oriented attitude.

7.       Culturally competent

8.       Bilingual – Spanish speaking is a Plus

 

 

The Neighborhood Facilitator works to enhance community resources through community asset identification, coordination, collaboration, and community education.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Identify community strengths through Community Asset Mapping.
  2. Identify gaps in services and supports for neighborhood families.
  3. Effectively utilize community partners and potential partners to work with residents to address gaps in services.
  4. Build relationships with local providers to ensure qualified information and referrals are given to families.
  5. Assist is identifying and referring families to appropriate community resources.
  6. Make decisions and track financial assistance for eligible families or individuals.
  7. Effectively facilitate the Family Team Conference process from contact to closure according to established criteria and best practice.

Requirements:

  1. Must be able to complete a 3-day new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services/Social Services or related field preferred. High School Diploma/GED acceptable with additional relevant work experience.
  3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in child welfare, prevention and/or community programs.
  4. Proficient written and oral communication skills
  5. Excellent presentation skills, networking and marketing program services to increase referrals
  6. Excellent Customer Service skills, good interpersonal and organizational skills, diplomatic assertiveness with a goal oriented attitude and candidate must be a team player.
  7. Culturally competent
