Job Description
To ensure that every single-family home we acquire will provide optimal living conditions for our customers, American Homes 4 Rent is hiring a Construction Manager with Production Building experience to coordinate the New Home Building efforts. This will include over site of all vendors, especially outside general contractors. This is an ideal situation for you to demonstrate your abilities and get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing company that’s unique in the industry ~ one of the country’s fastest-growing owners of single-family rental homes. Armed with knowledge of the marketplace to which you’re assigned, you’re the cornerstone for a myriad of inspection and building efforts that must occur to get a newly built home in ready condition so that it meets our quality standards.

Required Skills
As our Construction Manager, we’ll count on you to hit the ground running and provide oversight for our portfolio of New Home construction. Your understanding of the local market to which you’re assigned will be vital in expediting relationships with vendors, especially general contractors, who will work in tandem with AH4R, Property Compliance Inspectors and other stakeholders who together ensure that our newly built homes are rent-ready. Top candidates have experience with new construction of single-family homes. Because of the large number of properties, you’ll oversee, a high degree of competency with computers and computer software must be part of your arsenal at hire.

Required Experience
  • Use of Outlook, Word and Excel within the MS Office suite.
  • Yardi property management system.
  • MS Dynamics customer relationship software for tracking, invoicing and market status reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential as you supervise, direct and coordinate the efforts of multiple, inter-related teams.
  • Manage vendor performance and be credible as you ensure quality control, final confirmation of project completion, and the direct field oversight projects.
