Summary:
The Office Manager at the Chapel by the Sea is the go to person who supports the day-‐to-‐day operations for the church. The office manager is the resource for the church staff and its members and visitors. The office manager must maintain a pleasant working environment ensuring high levels of effectiveness and communication.
Qualifications:
- Skilled in personnel and organizational management.
- Possesses advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Publisher and/or InDesign, as well as internet and web management skills.
- Able to create and analyze data reports on Excel for attendance, financial and other required information.
- Skilled in interpersonal relations.
- Management/supervisory experience.
- Ability to function in a fast-‐paced environment with many interruptions.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
Reports to the Senior Pastor
Responsibilities:
-General Clerical duties including distribution of mail and production of weekly bulletin.
-Welcome, receive and direct guests, church members and volunteers.
-Answer phones and manage the phone and internet systems.
-Maintain the church calendar and building usage schedule.
-Direct publishing of and create content for bulletin, newsletter and enews.
-Maintain social media accounts.
-Maintain church records and other complex processes.
-Administer onboarding of new hires, new board members and new members.
-Manage the Servant Keeper database; create and run reports, annual directories.
-Understand and manage special church services including baptisms, memorials, interments, weddings, receptions, etc.
-Assist committees, board members, and committee and event chairs.
-Manage department budget.
-Some evenings and weekends as events, schedule might require.
