Job Title: OPS Student Assistant

Hourly Rate of Pay Range: $13.41 – $16.28 hourly

ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The Lawton and Rhea Chiles Center for Healthy Mothers and Babies is the first choice in the nation for maternal and child health research, education and service for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, advocates, families, and students. The Center houses a variety of projects researching maternal and child health. The Center employs faculty, staff and students.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position works with Program Director and staff to provide support during Open Enrollment period. The incumbent will screen walk-in appointments, check in consumers for their appointments, assist staff with scheduling Navigator appointments, confirm next-day Navigator appointments by phone, assemble Pre- and Post-Enrollment packets, assist staff with preparations for next-day appointments, walk consumers through the consent process, answer calls and address coverage-related questions coming in through the Covering Florida statewide toll-free assistance line. This position is ideal for someone who is motivated, customer service oriented, and eager to learn.

This position may include working on the weekends and evenings, as needed.

DUTIES:

  • Screen appointments, check them in and direct them to the appropriate Navigator for their appointment. Will walk consumers through the consent process and educate them about the Marketplace and Affordable Care Act (ACA) prior to their appointments.
  • Assist staff with scheduling appointments and confirming next-day appointments by phone. Answer calls and address coverage-related questions coming in through the Covering Florida statewide toll-free assistance line.
  • Assemble Pre- and Post-Enrollment packets and assist staff with preparations for next-day appointments.
  • Other duties, as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with two or more years of experience in an office or administrative support position. College or other relevant post-secondary coursework may substitute for the experience requirement on a year for year basis. Testing may be required to assess competency on word processing software.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with community service work.
