About the role

As a Paralegal, you will provide legal secretarial support during all phases of workers’ compensation litigation to the Staff Counsel Attorneys.

  • Preparation of responses to discovery, including meeting with clients when necessary
  • Sending discovery requests.
  • Monitoring compliance with discovery by all parties and prepares motions as appropriate.
  • Assisting with preparation of cases for trial.
  • Assisting attorneys with investigation of cases.
  • Obtaining medical, insurance, employment and/or other records/information, through record requests or subpoenas.
  • Assisting with the drafting of motions, briefs and other documents.
  • Coordinating CME’s and is office liaison with experts.
  • Performing legal research at the request of the attorneys.
  • Assist with scheduling and confirming depositions, mediations, hearings, and in-person/telephone conferences.

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience as a litigation paralegal in Florida required. Insurance defense experience preferred.
  • Spanish speakinga plus.
  • Solid knowledge / understanding of local jurisdictional and federal court rules and procedures.
