Banker Lopez Gassler P.A. is currently seeking a Paralegal to join our downtown Tampa office.
This full-time position focuses on the defense of litigation cases in the areas of:
- Construction litigation
- Professional malpractice
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, detail oriented, and team focused. Prior experience with construction litigation defense files is preferred.
Duties:
Duties include discovery, expert retention, file management, subpoenas, tracking billable time, and other paralegal tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certificate
- Minimum three years of progressive experience as a Paralegal in a defense law firm environment. Experience in insurance defense litigation preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of legal practices, terminology and format for legal documents.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate by e-mail, telephone, and in person to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact in an environment with a diverse group of personalities.
- Flexible and solution-oriented with the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Advanced writing skills and verbal communication skills. Includes the ability to type a minimum of 75 WPM.
- Advanced skills in computer technology using Microsoft Office Suite, Orion, Westlaw, and document management (Sharepoint).
- Ability to lift and carry up to thirty five pounds.
