Position Summary: Financial Services and Real Estate Paralegal with experience handling commercial real estate and lending transactions, foreclosures and financial services litigation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Must be well versed in title and survey review and serving as title agent in Florida.
  • Drafting closing checklists, closing statements, title documents, commercial real estate closing documents and loan documents.
  • Ability to manage tasks associated with commercial real estate closings and commercial loan closings.
  • Must be well versed in both federal and state court procedure and filing requirements, to include e-filing in federal courts and state courts.
  • Drafting of routine court documents, such as notices of appearance, motions for extension of time, motions for default and subpoenas.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as calendar hearings, court and discovery deadlines.
  • Create hearing binders and ability to provide internet research including pulling cases from Lexis and Westlaw, as needed.
  • Assist with the general aspects of document productions (redacting, copying, Bates stamping).
  • Organize, analyze, and index documents and exhibits.
  • Drafting foreclosure related documents, such as notices of lis pendens, final judgments of foreclosure, notices of sale and certificates of sale and title.
  • Ability to convey information to individuals at all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner; strong service orientation.
  • Manage hard copy and electronic case documents, including managing email and electronic files and preparing binders of hard copy documents.
  • Cite-check, bluebook and Shepardize briefs and legal memoranda.
  • Assist with all aspects of deposition preparation.
  • Organize and prepare witness files and trial notebooks.
  • Create and maintain working files for attorneys and index files for long-term storage.
  • Create and maintain trial exhibit and deposition designation databases; assist with preparation of pre and post-trial briefs.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects with changing priorities.

Position Requirements and Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal studies, preferred.
  • 7 years minimum paralegal experience within a law firm.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legal principles and practices.
  • Detail oriented with strong proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication across a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys and staff while maintaining high level of work quality and customer service.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationwide as needed.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
  • Ability to work moderate overtime.
