DEACON, MOULDS & STOFER , a law firm located in beautiful downtown St. Petersburg, is seeking a full time paralegal with 3+ years of experience preferred in medical and dental malpractice, and nursing home defense. Candidate must be highly organized, self-motivated and fully computer literate. Candidate must be able to work independently and with other staff and attorneys.
Responsibilities:
- Managing files for litigation matters including medical and dental malpractice and long term care Subpoena, intake and review medical records
- Understanding of medical terminology and records
- Preparing timelines, medical summaries, exhibits
- Preparing pleadings, discovery demands, responses to discovery requests from other parties
- Assist attorney in preparing for hearings, mediation, arbitrations and trials
- Ability to prioritize workload based on deadlines
Qualifications:
- 3+ years as an insurance defense paralegal
- Florida Registered Paralegal preferred
- Knowledgeable of Florida Civil Court Rules
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with attorneys, paralegals and other office staff in a professional manner
- Ability to interact with adjusters, clients, facility employees, experts, court personnel and opposing counsel and staff in a professional manner
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized
- Strong knowledge of Word 2010, Excel 2010, Outlook 2010. Acrobat Adobe Pro2017
- Knowledge of Client Profiles/ATO a plus
