INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT: The Office of the Attorney General, Department of Legal Affairs (OAG) is a pre-eminent, constitutional office, which serves as the chief lawyer to all state agencies and provides legal protections for Floridians against fraud and through the enforcement of the state’s laws. The OAG, is a cabinet agency in the executive branch of Florida state government.

OAG employees are paid biweekly. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a training program to become a Legal Assistant, a Paralegal, a Legal Paraprofessional or a Lawyer’s or Attorney’s Assistant; or a degree or certificate in legal technology, legal administration, legal studies or allied legal services; or graduation from a school of law; or a bachelor’s degree with a major in allied legal services; or four years of experience involving paralegal work; or four years of experience in legal secretarial work.
JOB SUMMARY: This position is in the Children’s Legal Services unit.
KSA/EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Preferred candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: good writing and organizational skills; knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar usage; good reading comprehension; ability to communicate effectively; ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to work well within a team atmosphere; ability to work independently and to multitask and receive direction and meet deadlines on a daily basis; ability to research case law; draft basic pleadings; knowledge of legal processes. Good computer skills essential; computer literacy required. Starting salary commensurate with legal training and experience.
