Join us: Currently recruiting for a Parking Operations Manager for our Downtown Tampa office. The ideal candidate should be a business minded individual with strong entrepreneurial spirit, a type “A” personality, energetic and a team player.

What the ideal candidate will do: This opportunity is for an individual with at least 2 years of operations management that includes providing leadership to junior and mid-level staff. The individual must have an interest and/or project experience in most of the following areas: parking operations, parking meter maintenance, meter security, parking customer service, parking signage, parking meter equipment and machinery. Position responsible for managing, coordinating and maintaining the operations of on-property administered parking in an efficient and courteous manner in accordance with parking industry guidelines and standards. This position plays a vital role in achieving our customer service goals and revenue growth objectives. The Operations Manager is subject to work overtime and have on call responsibilities. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload. Must proactively seek new ways to increase productivity and efficiency with the best interest of the organization, our clients and our employees.

  • Manage, implement and supervise all daily parking operations
  • Organize, maintain, and reconcile various reports and records, both manually and
  • through automated methods
  • Train, supervise, counsel, schedule and evaluate on-site parking staff
  • Assist in setup of special event parking programs
  • Provide technical assistance and work direction to support personnel
  • Maintenance of meter and pay station revenue control equipment
  • Operate office equipment (e.g., computer terminal and peripheral equipment,
  • calculator, copier, etc.)
  • Assist in collecting, recording and depositing revenues received at the facility
  • Prepare special reports in connection with fiscal records as assigned or required
  • Work special projects as assigned or required
  • Perform activities, functions and other related tasks and duties as assigned or required
  • Monitor and coach to improve staff and individual performance
  • Responsible for staff training
  • Conducting weekly meetings
  • Manage and coordinate daily with field supervisors ensuring day-to-day operations are meeting stated goals and objectives

Who the ideal candidate is:

  • Ability to operate and maintain meters and pay station revenue control equipment
  • MUST have ability to work all shifts (includes day shifts, night shifts, weekend shifts and holidays)
  • Knowledgeable of city grid
  • Knowledgeable of Basic Safety Measures
  • Ability to direct the work of others if assigned or required
  • Knowledge of record-keeping procedures and practices
  • Some knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and ordinances related to parking
  • Some knowledge of personnel policies and procedures
  • Knowledge and ability in the use of a calculator, computer and Microsoft Suite software applications
  • Ability to maintain records and to prepare accurate reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate relationships with the public, City of Tampa departments, other Authorities, agencies and employees
  • Physical requirements include frequently lifting/carrying 15+ pounds
  • Subject to walking, standing, sitting, and kneeling to perform essential functions.
  • Working conditions are primarily outside with frequent exposure to temperature extremes, dust, damp/wet surfaces, and high noise levels
