Job Summary: This is a part time executive position, with the possibility to develop into a full time position. The Executive Director will help to build membership; implement education and outreach programs; raise funding through sponsorships, grants and other opportunities; and connect with area landowners and agencies to find solutions to their conservation goals.
The executive director will oversee management of TBC properties and easements; provide support for land transactions; pursue LTA accreditation; and implement TBC’s strategic plan. TBC currently has a part-time administrative assistant who will assist the Executive Director. ED is accountable to, and will maintain regular communication with, the Board of Directors.
Required Education/ Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred, in related field (e.g. ecology, natural resource management, wildlife biology, nonprofit management), and/or 5+ years work experience in related field(s)
- Thorough knowledge of land conservation strategies and programs, and the role of land trusts in conservation efforts
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong fundraising and grant writing skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Solid computer skills, comfort with current technologies (i.e. internet, social media, Power Point, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Some work experience in not-for-profit organizations or agencies
Location: Executive Director will primarily work from home office and have the ability to travel for meetings and conferences.
Reports to Tampa Bay Conservancy Board of Directors.
