We are a small family owned real estate company with approximately 86,000 sq.ft. of office buildings that we own and/or manage. We are seeking a very practical and reliable handy man on a flexible, part time basis to follow up on our maintenance obligations for our 4 property locations in the Tampa Bay area.
Responsibilities:
Most of the work will be needed at our 30.000 sq.ft. office building close to downtown in South Tampa, where our leases are full service, ie. requiring us as landlord to service all our tenants maintenance requirements both inside and outside their units, the common areas and the exterior. We have to change light bulbs, fix leaky toilets, change light tube transformers, paint interiors, clean gutters, power wash facades, maintain irrigation systems, etc. in general, make sure our properties are looking good and are well maintained. We can guarantee at least 10hrs a month, but depending on skill set, the amount of monthly hours can be increased based on employee’s demand for more work – but most importantly, the more skilled the employee, the more maintenance projects we can engage him/her in doing.
Required work experience, skills and education:
The most important requirements of the person we want to hire are in prioritized order:
1) Reliability – i.e. we value the ability to show up on time when promised.
2) General experience and knowledge of building maintenance issues, no formal education needed.
3) Applicants must be able to have good communication skills to engage with our tenants and communicate how we intend to fix their issues.
4) Applicants should have a good appearance as he/she will have to interact with our tenants and should be able to represent our company in a good way.
Preferred applicants:
We are looking for a reliable person, young or old, who has a positive attitude, and who has a good work ethic able to work without supervision. You may be a student, a retired person, or want an extra job to supplement your income. You need to have your own car, we will compensate travel time and expenses. You must have the ability to minimum work 10-15 hours a month, if agreed we can expand the hours based on skill set of employee and availability and demand for additional hours of the employee. Compensation will be determined by the applicants efficiency, experience and skill sets.
