PLANNER III Description: Professional level planning work in conducting independent studies, completing planning projects, and regulating the growth and development of the City in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan and other statutes, ordinances, and regulations related to land use and community development. Planner III positions require analytical thinking and problem-solving, team-oriented participation, excellent human relations, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, good public presentation and customer service skills. Candidates must have knowledge of Word, Office, and Excel. PowerPoint, GIS, Photoshop and Publisher experience is preferred.
Long Range Planner work primarily involves preparing various types of planning studies, development of special area plans and comprehensive plan amendments, rezoning and annexations. Work may also involve reviewing development plans and applying regulations governing community development, zoning, and land use.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field, and at least three (3) years progressively responsible planning experience. A Masters Degree is preferred.
$47,000 – $56,000 target entry salary
