Well-established small Clearwater law firm is seeking an experienced (2+ years) full-time probate and estate paralegal (40 hours p/week). Certified Florida Paralegal or Florida Registered Paralegal preferred, IN OFFICE WORK ONLY.

The ideal candidate is an experienced paralegal with a good work ethic, detail-oriented, organized, can complete their work promptly with minimal supervision, multitask, and is proficient with computers, Florida E-File portal, Westlaw Form Builder, Westlaw legal research, legal calendaring, Word, Excel, Outlook, document drafting, and has good communication skills.

The paralegal will be responsible for assisting in drafting, editing, reviewing, and filing all probate, estate, and business-related documents and forms in a timely and efficient manner. There will be extensive communication with clients as the paralegal is the primary interface between attorneys and the firm’s clients. Strong organizational and time management skills are a must. The firm’s attorney rely on their paralegals to calculate and calendar deadlines to ensure deadlines are not missed. Must be detailed oriented, accurate, and efficient in using the technological resources needed to complete assigned work. This position requires dealing with sensitive, confidential information as well as administrative duties related to the preparation, organization, and maintenance of the client’s file.

The position will involve working with the Firm’s attorneys and assisting the other Firm staff with the following tasks:

  • Setting up, organizing, and maintaining client files;
  • Assisting attorneys with legal research and writing, editing and proofreading various legal documents, including but not limited to probate and estate planning documents, complaints, discovery requests, motions, and client letters;
  • E-Filing documents in the Florida E-File system, JAWS, and e-recording systems;
  • Coordinating and scheduling hearings and mediations, with the Judicial assistants, opposing counsel, and clients;
  • Communicating with clients via email and telephone calls;
  • Managing docket deadlines and attorneys’ calendars, and communicating with attorneys to ensure deadlines are not missed; and
  • Answering phones and greeting clients as needed.
