Progressive Insurance plans 220 hires in Tampa

Progressive Insurance is beefing up its Tampa workforce.

The Cleveland, Ohio-based auto insurer plans to hire 220 people at its Tampa operation. Positions will be staffed in IT, analyst, call center, claims and corporate, a statement said.

It’s part of an initiative by Progressive to hire 1,000 by the end of the year, the statement said.

The company also is hosting two virtual career fairs for college students interested in speaking directly with recruiters, on Sept. 23 and Sept. 24.
