Description:
Commercial Contractor is seeking experienced Project Accountant to join our team. Ideal candidate will have prior commercial construction experience, and proven ability to manage and maintain project financial and compliance requirements. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position will be responsible for all Project Accounting activities, including AP/AR, Collections, Compliance, Contracts and Subcontracts.
Responsibilities Include:
· Project setup and implementation, contract compliance and close out.
· Monitor project budget, billings to owner and payment to subs/vendors.
· Import/export data and create reports utilizing various software applications
· Communicate regularly with the Controller and Division Leaders on status of projects
· Coordinate with Project Management Team to prepare and submit monthly AIA construction draws, including compliance and release documents.
· Ensure contract compliance including billing requirements, change orders, NTO / lien releases, CCIP Reporting, subcontractor compliance, license, and insurance requirements.
· Assist Project Management staff with correct coding of AP invoices, ensure Project Manager approval
· Review Job related AP invoice approvals for weekly check runs.
· Collections Management, including project compliance and proper client and vendor lien releases.
· Advise and direct staff re communication with clients and vendors.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the industry
- Advanced Spreadsheets
- Recent employment in the Construction Industry with prior Specialty Subcontractor experience
- Ability to multi-task in an environment with shifting priorities
- Deadline conscious and detail orientated.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Thorough understanding of Lien Laws and Notice requirements
- Experience with percent complete revenue recognition
- Sage 300 CRE or Acumatica software is desirable.
