American Products, Inc. (API) is a specialty manufacturer and supplier of storefront, architectural metals, and building products for the retail and commercial construction industries. API offers a wide range of high quality materials at very competitive prices, making API a preferred supplier and industry leader among architects, designers, national chains, general contractors, and end users. These products include, but are not limited to the following: Storefronts, Doors, Canopies, Sunshades, ACM panel systems, Brake metal, Awnings, Roof screens, and handrails.
The Project Coordinator works with our internal teams as well as our clients from the beginning of a project through project completion. Position requires above average, EXCELLENT, computer skills. We are a manufacturer and provide our products to our customers. We do not typically install materials so you will typically not visit job sites. This is an office based position. Division 8, Division 5 and Division 10 experience is a plus.
Project Coordinator Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project from receipt of Purchase Order through shipping.
- Work with project manager on management of jobs
- Extensive communication and follow up with client to obtain key information such as dates, dimensions for products, etc.
- Completion of project paperwork (examples include but are not limited to material lists, quotes, order acknowledgements, shipping documents, work orders, bill of materials, etc.)
- Work with clients and internal teams to support all ongoing projects.
- Create regular project reports for clients and internal teams
- Handle logistics of getting materials to site
- Review and approve shop drawings
- Handle project close-out such as creating operation and maintenance manuals in a timely manner for submission to the client.
Project Coordinator Requirements:
- Excellent computer skills are absolutely a must
- Knowledge of the construction industry is beneficial for this position but not required.
- Prior project coordinator, project manager, bid coordinator, construction coordinator, design assistance experience is a plus but not required
- Blueprint exp. a plus
- Excellent organization skills are an absolute must
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
