Job Description – Project Coordinator
PURPOSE
This job description establishes and describes the authority, reporting relationships, duties and responsibilities, and performance standards of the Project Coordinator for
UCI2.
FUNCTIONAL ROLE
The Project Coordinator is a critical role that is responsible for the timely production of all orders flowing through the Operations department. The Project Coordinator is involved in a job from the time a sale is closed to the time of final invoicing.
The Project Coordinator will have extensive interaction with government bureaucrats, customer technicians, vendors as well as other employees and therefore must have a high degree of skill in communication and customer service.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Operations Manager.
AUTHORITY
The Operations Manager shall grant sufficient authority to the Project Coordinator to assure the successful completion of all assigned projects, responsibilities and duties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Required: A high school diploma.
Preferred: Some college or technical training.
Experience
Prefers above requirement plus one to two years experience in the construction industry preferably with cell tower construction or wireless equipment installation.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Must be highly organized with great attention to detail. Highly motivated with a drive to meet customers’ expectations in quality and delivery. Excellent communication skills are needed to be able to speak clearly with both customers and Project personnel.
Must be comfortable dealing with customers and able to communicate intelligently
Must be able to comprehend basic business math calculations well enough to verify accurate invoicing. Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both written and verbal, with customers and employees. Must be able to calmly deal with customers, vendors and UCI2 employees.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The majority of work will be in a climate controlled office with occasional travel on work related business. The normal auto and air travel hazards will apply. Travel may be in all types of weather including heavy rain. Work days will typically be 8 hours per day, but could include some early mornings and, late evenings. This is a highly visible position and the job requires that the company remain in the forefront of the industry.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Ensure necessary permits that are required for a job are procured prior to job start and closed at the end of the job. Track all permits from issuance to close out.
- Ensure job inspections are called in, results followed up on, finals and C.O’s are received in a timely manner.
- Maintain job tracker spreadsheet at every stage of the operations process that
Project Coordination is responsible for.
- Ensure dumpsters, porta johns and any other site utilities are ordered as needed.
- Initiate and complete the Utility coordination required for a project. Set up customer account, follow up on utility design and commitments, ensure meter releases are sent and the final power hook up occurs.
- Ensure field folder is complete and accurate and ready for the Construction
Manager at the start of all projects.
- Work with Accounting to ensure hotels have been booked if necessary.
- Update job tracker on a daily basis. Present operations schedule at weekly operations meeting.
- Assist Operations Manager in staying abreast of all project progress.
- Attend weekly operations meeting
- Complete end of project documentation and submit to customer.
- Receive punch lists from customer and forward to Operations Manager.
- Follow up on Customer approvals if not received in a timely manner.
- Assist Construction Managers with any of their project needs.
- Ensure accounting is aware of jobs to be invoiced and when final approval is given by the customer.
- Assist Operations Manager in conducting Job Post Mortems to ensure the profitability of each job and that each job was done within the estimated costs.
- Ensure that personal industry knowledge is current to the needs of the company.
- Any other duties the Operations Manager may assign.
MEASURE OF PERFORMANCE
- The number of days from field completion to customer approval is within company target range. (To be determined)
- Permits and site utilities are ready and available at project start date.
- Project Field Folder is complete, accurate and available at start date.
- Job Tracker is complete and accurate and updated on a daily basis.
- Project completion information is submitted to customer within 4 days of project completion.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
