Orchid Underwriters Agency (Orchid), a member of the Brown & Brown National Programs family, is seeking a Project Manager!
The Project Manager manages the overall direction, coordination, planning, execution, and completion of medium to large and complex, enterprise-level projects. Leads and drives the project to completion while ensuring consistency with company strategy and goals. This role would manage a portfolio of projects from ingestion to resolution. Applying project management discipline, they would be responsible for strategic project planning and working with a team or business partners to manage execution. The ability to develop project artifacts, effectively communicate to stakeholders at all levels both written and verbal, as well as complete in-depth analysis to include visualization of data through reporting and dashboard creation is critical to success in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Develops detailed project management plans and identifies project task and deliverables to build a project schedule and roadmap.
- Drives and manages the project according to plan to achieve the desired objectives and delivers the approved scope on-time, within budget, and with the expected quality.
- Directs, motivates, and empowers a cross-functional team from all levels of the enterprise to work towards the organization’s goals, ensuring efficient allocation of enterprise resources.
- Participates in building business case justifications for projects, including financial analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and definition of appropriate performance metrics to measure project success and benefits; including current state benchmarking and post Go-Live benefit realization measurement.
- Governs the project to ensure project scope and execution align with the business case and benefit objectives.
- Manages and controls the project budget; responsible for total project cost projections
- Acts as a project management mentor and supports informal training of other teammates on project management best practices, tools, techniques, and frameworks.
- Guides and supports project team members with current state requirements validation, future state visualization, and traceability for successful project execution.
- Applies critical thinking, conflict management, and continuous process improvement with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Proactively identifies, anticipates, and documents potential risks, issues, blockers, or changes to project scope. Assertively and creatively removes obstacles that slow down or prevent projects from delivering against project objectives, including active management of resources and deliverables (as required).
- As a change agent, discovers opportunities for process, technology, and organizational improvements, pilots on a small scale, shares learnings with peers and managers, socializes change and negotiates improvements on a larger scale.
- Coordinates and disseminates information of process, policy and procedure changes and ensuring the successful completion of projects managed.
- Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area to resolve issues.
- Ensures resources are assigned to project & monitor commitment.
- Identifies, documents, and understands project dependencies.
- Identifies key stakeholders who participate in project scope definition.
- Facilitates the transition of systems, product & process development to minimize adverse operations impact by ensuring that the business is informed and always aware of the status of process improvements, procedure & systems enhancements, and corrective actions for risk issues, identified for the business.
