Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Project Manager with a strong background in Controls Automation Engineering to lead and oversee complex projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in controls automation engineering, coupled with proven project management expertise. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of projects, meeting objectives, timelines, and budgetary requirements while utilizing your technical knowledge to navigate challenges effectively.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional project teams comprised of engineers, designers, technicians, and other stakeholders to deliver controls automation projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to the project team, offering insights into controls automation engineering best practices and innovative solutions.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining project scope, objectives, deliverables, resources, and timelines.
- Manage project execution by monitoring progress, resolving issues, and initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and external partners to define project requirements, address concerns, and provide regular project status updates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as a primary point of contact for project-related communication.
- Create and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and costs, and ensuring effective resource allocation.
- Optimize resource utilization, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Proactively address any technical or logistical challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and technical specifications.
- Generate regular project status reports for stakeholders and senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the controls automation engineering domain, fostering innovation and staying abreast of industry trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in controls automation engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of controls automation systems, PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and other relevant technologies.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and meet project milestones.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to challenges.
