We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Project Manager within our Beddingteam to help support our Adjustable bedbusiness. As a Project Manager you will have the opportunity to manage products throughout the product life cycle from launch to end of life. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by playing a key role in preparing the supply location for production start, managing product changes during the production phase, and managing the product closeout process. The team you will be working with is collaborative, dynamic, self-reliant, and values diversity of thought and open and honest communication.
So, what will you be doing as a Project Manager?
- Liaise between product development, Program manager, sales, and operations for program changes and new program rollouts.
- Work closely with product development to develop product improvements.
- Manage detailed launch plan on all new projects launch. This includes launch timeline, manufacturing readiness (materials, methods, manpower, machines).
- Manage detailed product change processes and product closeout (where applicable).
- Support the operations team with product related issues while the product is in steady state production.
- Host regular meetings with the core project teams, record meeting notes and action items, communicate meeting notes and action items for each project meeting held. Set the expectation that attendance is required by the core team members or a delegate for a team member to be sent to the meeting.
- Provide updates to team on changes in program timeline and implement appropriate action to meet the project needs.
- Maintain project tracking tools to ensure project tasks are documented and tracked. Communicate project status during each core team meeting and to management as needed. A minimum of the following items need to be tracked:
- Key project dates
- Project deliverables
- Action items including owners and commitment dates
- Manage and coordinate sample and special product build requests as needed.
- Communicate with customers in regards to Quality concerns, new products, and changes to current product.
- Coordinate internal product education meetings, tools and strategies.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity related to product, process, and the quality system.
- Identify and /or record any problems relating to the product, process, and the quality system.
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Understand and practice the policies and procedures for LP9000:2006 Management System, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II), and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI).
- The ideal candidate would reside in Kentucky or Florida.
