JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager is part of a collaborative team that supports the organization through significant transformational change and business process change. This is a hands-on role, responsible for providing end-to-end, cross-discipline leadership of a wide range of business projects, technology integration, business process improvement and organizational change initiatives. You will be expected to operate comfortably and effectively at the Executive and Senior leadership level, managing multiple high complexity, high risk and business critical projects; and you will actively champion and contribute to continuous improvement of best practices. This role reports to the Sr. Program Manager with input from the Executive Sponsor and with support from Leadership.

Essential Functions:

Project Management:

  • Lead the planning and execution of project management and enterprise improvement initiatives across the organization. Work in conjunction with the project team and business stakeholders to determine and define project scope and objectives following the organization’s project management methodology. Partner with business stakeholders to facilitate and drive the project from concept to project close.
  • Work closely with the business stakeholders to define the approach, activities and timelines for project execution, leveraging project management and change management best practices. Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan to keep resources on task and on time. Tailor standard project management methodologies to define pragmatic approaches for specific initiatives.
  • Identify and schedule the project resources needed to achieve project objectives. Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for team members required for specific projects or initiatives. Hold regular project team meetings to determine progress and address any risks, issues or pending decisions regarding the project.
  • Provide project updates to leadership and stakeholders on a consistent basis about strategy, risks, adjustments, and progress. Hold project team members accountable for their project responsibilities and deliverables; proactively ensure that teams are “in sync” in terms of communication, schedules, issues, etc. Create and publish the required project artifacts.
  • Develop project teams by promoting empowerment, engagement and high-quality deliverables.

Change Management

  • Develop change management plans for projects and/or organizational change initiatives. Evaluate the impact of organizational, technology or process change. Identify and manage anticipated resistance to change. Identify risks and develop risk mitigation tactics.
  • Work with respective technical and functional resources to:
  • Understand the technology solution, development process/lifecycle, deployment plan and hyper care support.
  • Document the change impacts, develop and execute communications plans; define training requirements and develop training content.
  • Work with members of the Leadership team and business stakeholders to implement the training and change plan, delivering consistent and high-quality communication and learning experiences to users.
  • Design and implement tools and processes to measure adoption success.
  • Report on progress and metrics to Leadership team and business stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5-7 or more years of progressively responsible experience as a Project Manager for a combination of project management, process improvement, business change, and other enterprise or strategic initiatives
  • Excellent project management skills and demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Demonstrated ability to consult and work collaboratively with business partners, subject matter experts, technical resources, vendor partners and diverse groups and individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Create an environment that is service oriented, supportive, engaging and effective
  • Outstanding writing, editing, critical reasoning, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Manage internal and/or external teams, schedules and budgets (as needed)
  • Optional: PMP certification, Six Sigma certification(s), Change management certification e.g. Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), PROSCI

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
