Job Summary:
The Project Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the construction of large commercial projects in the Florida Gulf Coast, Mid-Florida and Northern Florida regions. They will work closely with the project manager to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client. This position requires frequent evening/weekend work and frequent travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction day to day activities
- Ensure that all work is completed safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations and codes
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and suppliers
- Monitor and control project costs and schedule
- Conduct Weekly Subcontractor Coordination Meetings
- Communicate regularly with the project manager and client to provide updates on project progress
- Complete daily reporting, photos and documentation
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process
- Manage job site safety, compliance and security
- Ensure that all work is completed to the highest quality standards, on time and on budget
- 5 years experience with multiple construction management software technologies
Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 5 years experience as a project superintendent in the commercial construction industry, preferably Bank / 7-11 experience; 5 to 7 years experience of combined education and work experience is highly desired
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- 5 years experience reading blue prints and plans
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors, equipment & materials suppliers
- Experience creating and generating RFIs, reviewing and understanding submittals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred
