Key Responsibilities:
The role focuses on financial management and reporting for properties, ensuring accurate accounting, forecasting, and compliance. It involves:
- Month-End Closing: Reviewing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances.
- Journal Entries & Cash Flow Analysis: Preparing property-related journal entries and cash flow reports.
- Lease Compliance & Revenue Accounting: Ensuring tenant charges, accruals, and rental income comply with lease agreements.
- Team Leadership: Supervising property accountants and managing accounting operations.
- Budgeting & Reporting: Working with property managers to prepare budgets and recovery reconciliations.
- SEC Filings Support: Assisting with financial reports for regulatory filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q).
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Experience: 5-10 years in accrual and property accounting for commercial real estate.
- Certifications: CPA preferred.
- Software: Yardi Voyager experience is required.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong Excel and MS Suite proficiency.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
- Leadership experience in managing accounting teams.
- Must be based in the Tampa Bay area and able to work in the corporate office.
