PROPERTY MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

We are seeking experienced Property Management Accountants for the Tampa & St Petersburg areas. As the Property Management Accountant you will undertake all aspects of financial management, including property accounting and financial reporting. This role will report directly to the Controller and will work closely with Property Managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform all accounting operations including preparation of financial reports, A/R, A/P, and GL
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, as needed
• Research and solve technical accounting issues
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Interact with the third party A/P and accounting software providers to implement updates/upgrades
• Maintain account analyses and reconciliations
• Coordinate with other teams to ensure timely recording of transactions and the integrity and accuracy of financial reports
• Analyze reserves and adjustment recommendations
• Coordinate entry of the budget and financial forecasts in to the accounting system and prepare monthly reporting of variances against budget
• Coordinate accounts payable procedures to ensure timely recording & payment to vendors
• Other duties, as assigned from time to time

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

· Proven working experience as a real estate and/or property accountant

· Degree in Accounting (preferred)

· Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, determine priorities as projects arise and ensure that all projects get completed in a timely manner.

· Exceptional communications skills, written and oral

· Advanced analytical and problem solving skills

· Able to work as a team member within all finance and interdisciplinary teams

· Knowledge of Yardi accounting systems

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

· Salary depending on experience
