Come join us on our journey to serve our customers and be the leader in our industry!  We are currently looking for a Property Preservation Specialist I to join our team.

The Property Preservation Specialist I is responsible for performing various and moderately complex support functions to ensure the proper servicing of Fay and their clients real estate assets or properties.  This includes ordering, monitoring and approving services for property inspections, and the preservation and maintenance of properties in various stages of delinquency.  The specialist follows established guidelines to ensure properties are maintained and protected.

What you will do for Fay:

  • Order, receive and review daily incoming work orders related to monthly maintenance items such as inspecting, securing, repairs, grass cuts, winterizations, etc.; enter transactions into servicing system
  • Monitors queue for ensure the necessary work or task has been completed
  • Coordinates inspections, maintenance and repair work with vendors
  • Reviews property damages and coordinates with Escrow to file claimable damage on vacant or abandoned properties
  • Ability to make sound judgement decisions based on policy and procedures, business directive, industry standards and guidelines; effective decision making and problem solving skills
  • Reviews and approves submitted invoices for payment based on contract or pre-approval of services
  • Makes appropriate and timely decisions to mitigate loss and control expenses throughout the loan servicing process
  • Researches and responds to moderately complex inquiries from customers, staff, other departments, investors and vendors via phone, letter or email
  • Ability to compose emails and orally communicate information
  • Ability to communicate with individuals effectively in person and on the telephone
  • Identifies and escalate risks at the earliest opportunity to management
  • Desirable qualities include: self-motivator, organized, works well with others, excellent communications skills, detail oriented
  • Performs other duties as required

What you will bring to Fay:

  • General knowledge and experience in the mortgage industry, preferably in Default
  • Property Preservation knowledge or commensurate experience
  • Previous experience with managing deadlines and meeting goals
  • Efficient in Microsoft office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to make sound judgement decisions based on policy and procedures, business directive, industry standards and guidelines
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to a constantly changing work environment
  • Must maintain flexibility to work independently or in a team environment; seeking guidance as needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organization as well as customers and associated vendors or city officials
  • Mortgage servicing experience
  • College degree or equivalent experience in the property preservation industry
