JOB SUMMARY
Assists senior appraiser and valuation staff in the preparation of inventory valuations and machinery & equipment appraisal reports by performing on-site inspections of machinery & equipment, on-site inventory counts, internet research, data analysis, preliminary valuations, and appraisal report writing. The successful candidate will learn and apply appraisal principles to a variety of assets and industries, including: field inspection preparation, inspection techniques, identification of subject assets, market research, analysis, valuation, and compliance reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Travels throughout Florida and the US to inspect various property types, both independently and as part of a team
- Conducts internet and other research to locate comparable properties
- Performs comparison analysis based on sales of similar properties, arriving at preliminary valuations
- Conducts industry studies to determine supply/demand, market trends
- Formats reports, photos, charts in MS Office and MS Excel
- Prepares highest quality, comprehensive written appraisal reports within the deadlines
- Performs additional research as necessary
- Manages workflow with team members in order to improve efficiency of multiple project deadlines.
- Continuing independent studies in the appraisal industry
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education and Experience:
- 4 years college education. Studies in accounting, finance, business, economics, information, legal, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of internet research on-the-job work experience
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and dependable transportation for both in-state and out of state travel.
Required Skills:
- Advanced working knowledge of the Internet and Internet-search techniques (testing is required).
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (testing is required).
- Extreme attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency
- Strong organizational skills
- Problem solving – logic, analytic, and critical thinking
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies, industries, appraisal methods, and complex concepts
Working Conditions
- This position requires use of computers and to remain seated for extended periods of time.
- Work hours may exceed 40 hours per week.
- Field audits may involve climbing ladders and stairs of multi-story structures; working outdoors in extremes of heat and cold; walking, bending, squatting, crawling, and negotiating uneven terrain, restrictive spaces, and working in hazardous, dusty, or noisy areas.
