Director of Public Relations / Marketing

Tampa Bay Area Company is seeking an energetic, creative person to become part of our corporate Public Relations / Marketing team. The candidate must be a writer-organizer for public events and manage a high volume Marketing Department for the Real Estate and Entertainment group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Support preparation and distribution of corporate communications for internal and external audiences, including news releases
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Support corporate awareness campaigns.
  • Collaborate with content marketing team to ensure communications are shared through the correct channels in a timely manner.
  • Support PR efforts for several high profile businesses
  • Support local initiatives to network and expand brand awareness.
  • Support local media outreach for corporate events and announcements.
  • Identify regional recognition opportunities
  • Support internal and external sponsorship requests. Manage the product requests, shipping and documentation to fulfill approved requests.
  • Support corporate affairs campaigns around specific corporate initiatives.
  • Provide cross functional PR support to internal marketing and executive teams as needed.
  • Assist with media monitoring.

Qualifications and Acquired Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • A basic knowledge of the fundamentals of modern public relations, including press release writing, media relations, crisis management, event management, etc.
  • A thorough understanding of Marketing and Branding functions.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to support a fast paced team.
  • Ability to quickly adjust priorities.
  • Positive/teamwork attitude.
  • Proven track record of success.
  • Strong analytical skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PR agency and Marketing experience strongly preferred, but not required.
