Franklin Street Valuation Advisory is currently seeking a Quality Control Manager for the Appraisal team. The Quality Control Manager – Valuation Advisory performs the appraisal review functions that ensure a high-quality standard for all valuation work while allowing Appraisers to reach their highest levels of efficiency and productivity. The Quality Control Manager will also play a key role in Appraisal team training, development, and ongoing coaching.
Job Description
– Performs appraisal reviews regarding methodology, consistency, technical aspects, data quality, and overall reasonableness in a timely manner consistent with deadlines/due dates.
– Oversees all engaged assignments for quality, timeliness, and technical reviews.
– Develops and coaches Junior/Intermediate/Trainee appraisers and researchers/analysts by transferring skill and knowledge and reviewing their results
– Manages and reviews assigned jobs via ongoing meetings with staff Appraisers.
– Works with clients/Appraisers to determine valuation methods and/or techniques best suited for valuing a property.
– Develops expertise with proprietary software and various data sources.
– May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level associates.
– May reviews RFP’s, recommends and/or provides a fee quote, delivery date for clients.
– Demonstrates leadership and strong personal integrity.
– Attends seminars, conferences, etc. for specific property types specialties as needed.
– If necessary, acts as a principal Appraiser in assignments, working independently or in collaboration with other analysts and staff and performs analysis of complex commercial real estate.
– As necessary, engages in complex Litigation Support assignments
– Works on special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
– Minimum 8-10 years of commercial appraisal experience required.
– Prior appraisal review experience a plus.
– MAI designation required.
– Certified General Appraiser license required.
– ARGUS proficiency required. Must be proficient in performing cash flow models in Excel or ARGUS.
– REIS proficiency preferred.
– Comprehensive knowledge of USPAP required.
– Advanced level of proficiency in computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internet / application software is required along with a willingness and ability to learn new software programs.
– Ability to query, manage, comprehend and provide analysis for large data sets and complex business documents, leases, etc. required.
– Prior experience working with databases strongly preferred.
– Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a regionally accredited college or university is required. Degree in accounting, real estate or related field a plus.
– Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
– Exhibits highly developed written, oral, and presentation skills (English), both in person and over the phone. Ability to present information to an internal department and/or large groups and work in a collaborative manner.
