Summary/Objective: The overall summary of the Real Estate Accounting Specialist is to handle all accounting matters in real estate transactions within the company.

Responsible for having good communication with the entire accounting department and also Branch Administrators

Responsible for depositing checks into bank in a timely manner

Responsible for keeping all deposits organized and payments paid by the right time

  • Accounting Services

Assist with distribution of daily couriered items.

Process pending, fall-thru and closing contracts for all branch offices including verification of data, computer input and file maintenance.

Prepare daily bank deposits and issue commission checks.

Process property management transactions including computer input and issuing commission checks.

Process escrow deposits for all branch offices including verification of data and timeliness of deposit, computer input, preparing bank deposits and file maintenance.

Process escrow disbursements for all branch offices including verification of data and check clearance, check issuance and file maintenance.

Process associate billing charges, credits and payments, preparing bank deposit for payments.

Process adjustments to closed contracts.

Assist with maintenance of all associate records for all branch offices including new hires, updates and terminations.

Coordinate with referral services to ensure proper payment to referring brokers.

Coordinate with office administrators to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.

Assist with monthly report issuance and distribution.

Assist with workload of Accounts Payable clerk and Residential Property Management Accountant in their absence.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and movement through the office is required. This would require but is not limited to the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and maintain office equipment. This job requires good hearing and eye sight for customer communication and computer input.

  • Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
