Full Job Description

The Real Estate Asset Manager is responsible for analyzing the investments, the acquisitions, and the due diligence process, overseeing the renovations, and making sure the business plans are properly executed for each property.

The candidate will help monitor the operations and annual budgets for each asset while assisting the management teams daily.

This position is remote, and it requires the ability to travel frequently to visit the properties within the South East USA.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the renovation process and the lease-up process, ensure it complies with company standards, and act as the company advisor throughout the upgrading process;
  • Monitor budgets and turnover expenditures to come up with cost reduction recommendations;
  • Monitor project progress to make sure renovations are on track with timelines and up to the company high-quality standards;
  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of personalities to resolve issues and foster a greater sense of teamwork;
  • Assist with operational efficiencies and help monitor progress;
  • Creating investment memos to present opportunities to the company internal investment committee as well as external investment partners;
  • Monitor market data (vacancy/leasing rates, development volumes, price) in markets where properties are located and identify best practices;
  • Oversee the due diligence process and come up with modernized ways that communities can better accommodate local, state, and federal code requirements;
  • Quarterly review of debt investments performance, evaluation of risk associated with loans, communication with borrowers regarding any irregularities noted in operating statements (balance sheet and income statement);
  • Review of audited financial statements and tax returns for equity investments, compare results to projections and report variances;

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with solid customer service;
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring skills;
  • Strong financial management skills; well-versed in budgeting and forecasting;
  • Superior record in real estate asset management; lease and renovation experience preferred;
  • College diploma or equivalent required;
  • Ability to recognize problems and take action;
  • Highly organized, with an ability to manage multiple workflows in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience in multi-family residential properties;
  • Spanish speaking is a plus;
  • Demonstrated success working with a diverse workforce;
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, and mechanical systems;
  • Knowledge of Mac and MS Office.
