Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. has been named one of Florida’s premier law firms with its Real Estate Department earning a Tier 1 ranking in 2021 from Chambers USA.  The Real Estate team represents developers, investors and others in all areas of residential and commercial real estate. Projects include office buildings, shopping centers, healthcare facilities, hotels, mixed-use and residential projects.

The Tampa Office of Stearns Weaver Miller is seeking a real estate attorney with 3–6 years of experience in real estate to join the statewide Real Estate and Land Development, Zoning & Environmental Practice Groups.   The associate attorney will be working on a broad array of matters statewide in the areas of real estate, land development, land use and environmental.  The ideal candidate will be familiar with multiple aspects of commercial real estate, including contract preparation and negotiation, acquisition, financing, project planning and development, construction, leasing, and disposition of real estate assets.

We are seeking a well-rounded, confident, organized and highly-motivated attorney with strong interpersonal skills, who is eager to gain valuable experience while working directly with clients in a collaborative environment.  All candidates must have outstanding writing, analytical and communication skills along with strong client service values. 

Responsibilities

  • Negotiating purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, lease agreements and construction documents
  • Reviewing transactional documents, including title work, surveys, technical reports and development agreements
  • Conducting legal research and providing legal opinions
  • Preparing, reviewing and analyzing contracts, agreements, covenants and other legal documents
  • Negotiating land development agreements, governmental approvals and other land entitlements
  • Working on a team including land planners, paralegals and executive assistants

To be considered, a candidate must hold a J.D. from an ABA approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Florida Bar. The preferred candidate may also show non-legal experience that is relevant to the practice group. For instance, a candidate may have a background or have practiced in the subjects of real estate, appraising, planning, engineering, government, or environmental sciences.  The preferred candidate will be based in the Stearns Weaver Miller Tampa Office.
