Job Description: Real Estate Closer Mid
Job Summary:
Responsible for drawing loan closing documents during the completion of real estate transactions. Prepares, verifies and sends documents to the appropriate parties and ensures all loans close in accordance with bank, investor, and regulatory guidelines. Calculates the final figures and assembles documents needed to close mortgage loans to ensure terms of the transaction are met prior to funding. Coordinates all aspects of the loan closing process for various real estate loan products.
Minimum Requirements:
- Two years of recent real estate lending experience to include mortgage loan processing, home equity loan processing, closing, originating, underwriting mortgage loans or a combination of. (Specifically after 10/2015)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Maturing knowledge of company and regulatory changes that affect the closing and funding process, specifically TRID regulations
- Maturing knowledge of real estate lending, documentation, policies, and procedures
- Maturing knowledge of all products and investor requirements to ensure quality closing packages
- Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
- Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Attention to detail, good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle detailed assignments and multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to handle confidential material in a professional, highly ethical manner
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Job Duties:
- Maintains communication and addresses questions from closing agents, internal and external partners to communicate loan status, and serves as the point of contact for the title company Collaborates with team members to resolve issues
- May initiate outbound calls to title companies to obtain all documents required for closing and funding including title commitment, fees, etc. Ensures all required documentation is in compliance with state and federal regulations with a focus on RESPA compliance, TRID, and Truth in Lending.
- Reviews and approves the title commitment, ensures title work is clear of liens, judgments and encroachments, and communicates the final clear to close. Enters closing information into the loan origination system to create loan documents, and sends closing instructions.
- Reviews and approves the Closing Disclosure. Ensures fees, names, amounts, account conditions, seller concessions, taxes, payoffs, etc., are accurate.
