Description:
Powell, Carney, Maller, P.A. is seeking a full-time, experienced commercial real estate legal assistant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates must be able to hit the ground running and manage the full spectrum of legal assistant responsibilities related to complex commercial real estate transactions. Duties will include but not limited to the tasks described below:
· Order and organize title commitments, exception documents and surveys.
· Assistance with closings, including preparation and revising of conveyance documents, closing statements, transfer tax forms, and escrow release documentation.
· Attending to post-closing requirements, including , preparation and organization of closing binders, and monitoring of post-closing deliveries and other requirements.
· Preparation of correspondence and memoranda.
· Preparation of lease and transactional documents.
· Track change/redline and compare documents
· Ordering UCC, judgment, tax and other lien searches.
· Ability to draft and review business/real estate contracts.
· Preparing and recording/e-recording a variety of documents, including, deeds, mortgages, memoranda of leases, UCC financing statements, etc.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe and aptitude for quickly learning various other programs
· Excellent communication skills – written and oral
· Excellent organizational and administrative skills
· Problem solving, analytical and research skills
· Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously and willingness to work extra hours as needed
· Motivated self-starter with a positive attitude
Educational/Job Experience Requirements:
· 3-5 years experience in a real estate law office
Office Location: Downtown St. Petersburg, Florida
