Full Job Description
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of E-Discovery and Paralegal Services, the Real Estate Paralegal will work directly with Attorneys in the Real Estate Finance and Banking Practice Group.
Position Responsibilities:
· Ability to convey information to individuals at all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner; strong service orientation.
· Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects with changing priorities.
· Preparing, revising and/or filing various documents, certificates, statements, amendments and forms.
· Performing UCC and other searches.
· Preparing and tracking closing checklists and transaction documentation from letter of intent through completion of closing binders.
· Reviewing and summarizing title commitments and surveys.
· Assisting with preparation of title commitments, title invoices, and proforma policies.
· Preparation of title products including but not limited to providing title research, providing copies, updating products, monitoring product deliveries.
· Obtaining deed and mortgage documentation.
· Assisting with preparation of closing statements.
· Reviewing due diligence materials.
Position Requirements and Desired Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal studies, preferred
- 7 years minimum paralegal experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of legal principles and practices
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Superior interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication across a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys and staff while maintaining high level of work quality and customer service.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
