Full Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Real Estate Title Closer is responsible for preparing documentation for real estate purchases and/or sale closings.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Sees files from inception to post-closing, ensuring all required documents are obtained and distributed to those who are responsible for them. Works to ensure a smooth transaction between buyer, seller, attorney’s and lenders.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: Works with the Title department to ensure all documentation is received for purchases Works with attorneys to complete pending purchase agreements and create closing checklists for all real estate sales
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
- Timely correspondence (incoming/outgoing) with borrowers, lenders, attorneys via email, fax, telephone
- Preparation of preliminary CD and closing packages
- Handling escrow transactions – preparation of wires (obtain wire instructions) and checks
- Closing Coordination
- Responsible for pre-close maintenance of escrow and title issues
- Review title commitments, clear judgments and identify and follow up on any listed requirements
- Assist settlement specialists in obtaining payoffs, commission statements, verify tax, water, sewer and other amounts needed to complete settlement statements and CD’s
- Review closing documents
- Reviews documents required to fund loans with knowledge of entity borrower documentation preferred.
- Reviews signed closing documents and ensures all conditions have been met to disburse the file.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Above average skills in: research, rescheduling and prioritizing
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience
- Notary
- Title License Preferred
