Job Summary:

The Receptionist answers and routes calls, greets visitors, handles inquiries from the public, and provides information related to the company.  The Receptionist will also be required to assist other department personnel with paperwork, mailings, and other administrative work but is not responsible for student enrollment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer the phone (switchboard) in a professional and ethical manner
  • Direct transfer calls to person requested by the caller or that person’s designee
  • Greet all visitors in a cordial and professional manner
  • Provide parking validation for visitors and parking cards for employees as needed
  • Review Admissions paperwork for accuracy
  • Enter & delete leads as directed
  • Receive and distribute mail
  • Comply with all ECMC Education and ECMC Enterprise Policies
  • Perform other administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School or GED preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Must be customer-oriented and maintain a positive, friendly attitude at all times
  • Displays and promotes high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational and government standards

  • Reports to – Executive Director and/or Campus Director
  • Direct Reports – N/A
  • Contacts – visitors, students

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office:  Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment that requires normal safety precautions (such as in typical office or administrative work)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sedentary work:  Job involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing etc. may be minimally required

TRAVEL

Rarely if at all – less 10% of the time.

  • Required to work normal hours to successfully perform the job responsibilities
  • Frequently subjected to interruptions, multiple calls, and inquiries
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
