Advanced clerical work and facility oversight requiring the application of independent judgment and specialized knowledge. Work includes training and oversight of office staff and significant cash handling. Work is reviewed by the facility manager.
Schedule / Assignment: This position will primarily work day time hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some nights, early mornings and weekends may be required.
- Train front desk office staff on registration software and business practices
- Lead staff for all questions/issues regarding registration software
- Prepares daily deposits
- Verifies all cash closeouts
- Performs notary functions for various required documents
- Opens the facility, including conducting an opening inspection and preparations for the daily business operations of the facility
- Clerical administration for Silver Sneakers programs
- Sets up course codes to enable registration
- Provides clerical support to the manager and supervisor
- Inputs and retrieves data from a computer, makes final checks of documents for proper coding and mathematical accuracy.
- Provides customer assistance to facility patrons
- Prepares various contracts for review by manager
- Petty cash custodian
- Records retention custodian
- Prepares payroll for manager approval

EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATUS: City of Largo employees will be required to work as directed during an undeclared and/or a declared emergency. All employees are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location and may include duties other than those specified in the employees official job description. This is a condition of employment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED, supplemented by experience and/or training in typing, word processing, internet, database and/or spreadsheets
- At least three years office clerical experience or and equivalent combination of training and experience

Work Environment: 98% Inside a climate controlled building. 2% Outside which may include driving.
Physical Requirements: The essential functions of the job require: sitting approximately six (6) hours per day, standing approximately one (1) hour per day, and walking approximately one (1) hour per day. The job also requires frequent: bending/stooping, fine manipulations, and repetitive motion, with occasional: grasping, reaching, lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 15 pounds, and lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 44 pounds. On rare occasions the work requires: crawling, kneeling, pulling, and pushing.
Sensory Requirements: Hearing: Ability to understand what others are saying in normal conversation and on the telephone. Speaking: Ability to communicate orally with others and speak effectively on the telephone. Seeing: Ability to see and read computer monitor screens, and read normal print.
Driving Requirements: The work may require occasional driving and possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License.
Office Machines: The work requires the ability to operate the following office machines: telephone, Fax, photocopier, printer, calculator, and computers.
