Position Overview

The Front Office Manager/Assistant General Manager will oversee the daily operations of the resort under the direction of the property owners.  Ensure that front desk and communications meet or exceed standards for maximum guest satisfaction.  Act as the main contact for guests and other hotel departments in the absence of the owners.

About the Opportunity

As the Front Office Manager/Assistant General Manager, you would be responsible for managing the daily activities of the Front Desk in the resort’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.  Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Ensure efficient guest registration, check out and telephone service.  Ensure rental properties are in excellent condition for guest arrivals by maintaining daily workflow, inspection, maintenance, and cleaning of units.
  • Follow established policy and procedures with regard to public relations, handling guests both courteously and professionally, proper identification and credit are established and all posting, cash transactions, account settlements and deposits are handled correctly
  • Assist in housekeeping new-hire and ongoing training.  Participate in daily office operations
  • Observe front desk, and housekeeping staff to ensure that their duties are completed in accordance with established policy and procedure
  • Monitor and develop housekeeping team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and scheduling
  • Effectively review resort standards, departmental procedures and operating issues
  • Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues
  • Meet and greet guests and respond to guest inquiries, requests and resolves guest issues and concerns in a timely, friendly and efficient manner through creative thinking and punctual follow-up
  • Maintain current knowledge of resort products, services, facilities, events, pricing and policies and knowledge of the local area and events
  • Maintain hotel booking site postings, and respond to guest inquiries in a timely and efficient manner

Job Requirements


Desired Qualifications:

  • 4 year college degree in Hospitality and/or Business is a big plus
  • A least 2-3 years experience within the hospitality industry and/or property management industry
  • Should possess a high level of oral and written communication skills and the ability to problem solve on a daily basis
  • Should possess sales skills
  • Must be highly organized/results oriented in planning work with a vision of what needs to be accomplished.  Will be ultimately responsible for the goals and objectives of each property managed
  • Strong computer skills (Mac a plus), including report generation and progress reports
  • The successful candidate should be career driven, highly disciplined and able to perform in a fast paced environment, and should possess the ability to multi-task efficiently.
  • Must have valid Driver’s License, and reliable transportation, and will be required to use transportation for business needs during work hours.
