Full Job Description
A unique and popular property on the beach has an upcoming opening for a General Manager. The property is 50% hotel rooms and 50% private condos. Hotel management and/or property management experience is mandatory in order to be considered a candidate. Experience working with third-party booking companies is greatly preferred. The ideal candidate for this position must be professional, detail-oriented, and flexible. A high level of communicative and computer skills are also essential. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
~ Managing a staff of up to 12 employees across three different departments (Front Desk, Maintenance, and Housekeeping), which entails all normal Human Resource functions.
~ Controlling/auditing hotel rates and reservations to maximize revenue during the various seasons of the year.
~ Overseeing sub-managers and directing them to maintain the highest possible level of excellence.
~ Participating in the setting and administration of periodic HOA meetings.
~ Establishing a trusting relationship with the majority hotel owner and all private condo owners.
~ Working with the Maintenance Manager to prioritize necessary projects, obtain quotes, oversee work, and communicate with all owners.
~ Maintaining an effective marketing presence via the hotel website, third-party booking sites, social media, and regular mass email promotions.
~ Purchasing supplies and general accounting.
~ Daily/periodic reports and revenue forecasts.
Please note that we will only be considering local candidates in Pinellas County, or possibly Hillsborough and Pasco Counties.
This position can be very demanding at times, but there is the flexibility to create your own schedule. There is monthly bonus potential and salary will be determined by qualifications.
