Description
Purpose
Performs limited aspects of right-of-way and real estate related activities, assisting in negotiating favorable terms to various land and right-of-way related agreements secured on behalf of the company’s client.
Key Responsibilities
Do the Work
- Identifies land ownership from public records.
- Under general supervision, researches, reviews, and analyzes land titles of lesser complexity. Seeks to identify defects.
- Under general supervision, negotiates the acquisition of right-of-way, easements, and other property interests of lesser complexity, on behalf of the company’s client.
- Under general supervision, reviews, prepares, analyzes, interprets all Land and Right-of-Way related agreements, deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses.
- Maintains up-to-date records of contact attempts and parcel-related data in company database.
- Attends team meetings as necessary.

Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one year Customer Service or related experience required.
- Minimum of one to three (1-3)-years’ experience in right of way related activities.
- Ability to obtain Notary Public designation.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time during busier periods.
- General understanding of certain aspects of right-of-way and land acquisition and of regulatory and legal issues preferred.
- Ability to read and generally interpret engineering drawings, legal documents relating to real estate and right of way transactions is a plus.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate with property owners regarding changes that may affect their property. Clients include homeowners, legal representatives, industry, universities, and utilities.
- Satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State driver’s license.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Must be organized, motivated, self-reliant, and work with minimal direction.
- Works effectively with internal leaders as well as external clients.
- Be able to successfully perform multiple tasks in a fast paced and fluid environment.
- Intermediate computer skills in various Microsoft Applications, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiar with work management tools, and related technologies such as GIS and Google Earth.
- Multi-lingual is a plus.
Essential Functions
- Satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time during busier periods

- Ability to work in outdoor environment
- Ability to obtain Real Estate License in state, if required
