Job Description
- Prepares appraisal reports in conformance with USPAP and client guidelines and consistently meets deadlines. Regularly performs analysis of complex commercial real estate.
- Performs property inspections with an experience eye for key details.
- Engages in complex Litigation Support assignments as needed.
- Develops expertise with proprietary software and various data sources.
- Continuously gathers and analyzes sale, lease and operating expense data for comparable properties.
- Proficiently utilizes Argus Modeling (cash flow software) required for complex income property assignments and other financial analysis.
- Researches market trends and array data into graphs and maps for use as report exhibits in appraisals.
- Researches and verifies commercial real estate sales and lease transactions and enters into database and conduct market interviews necessary for market analysis.
- Analyzes past, current and pro forma revenue and operating expenses for the property being appraised.
- Contributes to organization goals by adding to database, setting up a library, specializing in niche real estate markets.
- Develops, manages and maintains client relationships.
- Develops and coaches Junior/Intermediate/Trainee appraisers and researchers/analysts by transferring skill and knowledge and reviewing their results.
- May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level associates.
- Develops, in collaboration with senior leadership, a strategic growth plan for the market, which includes short and long-term action plans and financial goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a regionally accredited college or university.
- 3+ years commercial appraisal experience.
- Certified General Appraiser license.
- MAI designation or MAI candidate.
- Advanced level of proficiency in computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internet / application software is required along with a willingness and ability to learn new software programs.
- Proficient in Argus. •Ability to query, manage, comprehend and provide analysis for large data sets and complex business documents, leases, etc. required.
- Prior experience working with databases strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic and the ability to hit set deadlines.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
