Senior Director, Public Relations & Influential Communications

Location: This position is based in Central Florida – Tampa, St. Petersburg, Orlando and works remotely from home until otherwise determined.

Reports to: Group Director, Public Relations & Influential Communications who is located in the Tampa Bay area.

NOTE: Candidates must submit a minimum of 4 writing samples.

Candidate Must-Haves:

  • Minimum of 10-years Public Relations experience.
  • Past experience as a Public Relations Account Director, Account Coordinator, Account Executive or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in PR, Journalism or Communications or equivalent.
  • Located in the greater Tampa Bay or Orlando Metro/Central Florida area.
  • Desire to work on varied accounts in the travel/tourism and healthcare industries, therefore a wide range of experience and knowledge in both channels is necessary.
  • Experience with luxury brands, consumer brands, influencers, and social media required.
  • Proven success in the management of large Public Relations accounts, with a concentration on national and international media placements.
  • Crisis communications experience.
  • Critical thinking skills and integration of client marketing campaigns.
  • Experience managing a client account and delegating responsibilities to ensure timely completion of Public Relations initiatives.
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to work on a small team, wear many hats and share knowledge with your team.
  • Eager and capable of managing workload without constant management.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience creating lists and reports.
  • Customer/client relations experience.
  • Comfortable with frequent phone conversations.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in all programs in the Microsoft Office Suite as well as Apple / Mac products.
  • Have general knowledge of Cision, Meltwater and TV Eyes platforms.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead client day-to-day agency contact for various clients in tourism, destination marketing, attractions, resorts and consumer brands.
  • Strategically develop robust annual Public Relations and Influential Communications plans and executive all plan initiatives.
  • Integrate Public Relations with influencer marketing and social media initiatives for assigned clients.
  • Manage a wide range of client types, while achieving placements in varied outlets.
  • Analyze metrics, utilizing findings to adjust client initiatives as well as craft client reports.
  • Research and craft compelling press materials such as releases, pitches, bios, etc.
  • Proven track record of working with clients to develop compelling and informative thought leadership, interview Q&A response and other executive communications.
  • Have strong media relationships and the eagerness to nurture new ones.
  • Oversee the creation of media fact sheets and other prep materials such as comp sets, media lists, publication lists, etc.
  • Oversee the creation of presentations for various client needs.
  • Oversee and ensure the proper coordination of press events and client visits
  • Coordinate group and individual press trips including itinerary creation, vendor/partner outreach, media outreach.
  • Oversee and ensure delivery of monthly media reporting – must have previous clipping and reporting experience (Meltwater, Cision, TV Eyes).
  • Maintain and organize client server files.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $60,000 and commensurate with experience
