But our short-term leases, fast move-in, and custom unit sizes allow businesses ultimate flexibility. We serve a tremendous variety of businesses, from contractors to moving companies, e-commerce sellers, and custom clothing manufacturers.
We are looking for a Senior Counsel who will be responsible for the legal operations of the business. Some of the responsibilities of this role will include:
• Negotiating leases for new properties, and monitoring our compliance with those leases.
• Evaluating existing operating procedures and potential changes to operating procedures, especially with respect to customer matters including non-payment, to ensure they are compliant with applicable laws.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws across the company, and handling certain HR-style matters.
• Responding to potential and actual litigation, liens, and other matters that arise in the normal course of business.
• Serving as the key point of contact for any outside counsel serving the company in jurisdiction or matter-specific cases, including zoning or large transactions.
• Maintaining corporate legal records
• Assisting the owners in corporate structuring matters and leading the team overseeing financing and capitalization transactions
Required Qualifications
• JD with current license in the United States
• 3+ years practical experience in corporate and at least one of real estate and employment law
• Corporate experience
• Ability to explain legal concepts and principles to junior-level (non-law) staff
• Highly self-driven and independent work style requiring little daily oversight
• Comfort in juggling multiple projects and staying highly organized
• Strong computer skills

• Familiarity with basic Canadian corporate law and cross border businesses
• Experience in local/city/town permitting matters
