Responsibilities

The successful candidate will share the following responsibilities for hundreds of physical and virtual servers located in FairWarning’s data center as well as across 47 of the United States and 7 countries.

– Manage a growing in-house and co-location physical and virtualized  server environment
– Utilize existing tools as well as expand tools to perform multi-layer monitoring of servers
– Use and develop cutting-edge system automation tools for virtual server management used for customer facing software-as-a-service offering
– Diagnose hardware problems and interface with vendors for equipment repair/replacement
– Virtual Machine design and support
– Work independently as well as in collaboration with customers to provide solutions that address their business needs
– Assist in developing server and storage configurations that overall support 100 Billion rows of data, growing at hundreds of millions of rows per da.  Configurations for a single customer reach 30 MM + events per day and extend well over 5 Billion rows of data

Formal Information Security certification a plus for the right candidate.

Desired Skills & Experience

– Experience working in an open source environment managing Apache servers, J2EE applications and MySQL databases
– Red Hat Linux SE administration and support
– Networking knowledge and experience (TCP/IP,FTP, IP Tables, Firewalls, SCP, SSH)
– Experience with web-server configuration (apache tomcat)
– Mastery of the English language with strong verbal and written skills is required.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
– Problem solver with attention to detail and strong time management skills is required.
– Knowledge of Information Security related to data privacy or knowledge of the Healthcare Industry, including EHR systems, is a plus.
