This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Tampa, FL.  Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.  #globalmining

Your Impact

  • Leads and manages large, multi-disciplinary projects that include but not limited to high levels complexity in financial risk, safety and security in high-risk countries
  • Acts as the primary client contact throughout the entirety of the project
  • Provides timely guidance and communication to entire project team on related project level issues
  • Liaises regularly with project Technical Managers, Project Director, technical teams, internal accounting teams, and external clients
  • Manages a remote team in various time zones, depending on location of the project
  • Develops and ensures adherence to the project schedule 
  • Supervises change request activities by appropriately addressing anticipated scope changes as they evolve
  • Responsible for regular progress reports for the client, the project team and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Supports business development activities including marketing activities and proposal development
  • Mentors junior staff
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 10+ years of project management experience
  • Qualifications and experience in fields of geotechnical engineering and/or engineering geology
  • Experience in earth embankment design and inspection, field investigations, mining operations and infrastructure, production of construction plans and specifications and construction quality assurance
  • Experience with project financial tracking and change management related to scopes of work
  • Experience in identifying and mitigating against project risks and developing risk registers
  • Expertise in project planning, numerical tracking and analysis
  • Experience in managing large multi-discipline teams
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the use of MS Project and/or P6 Primavera
  • Florida PE or PG Registration
  • Experience in use of geotechnical modelling software (GeoStudio / Slide / FEM)
  • MSHA certified
