Franklin Street is currently seeking a Property Accountant for the Property Management Accounting team. Successful candidates will be those possessing a background in commercial (retail/office/multifamily) management accounting, strong systems proficiency, and an enthusiasm for customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to perform a variety of accounting functions for various real estate and related service companies:
- CAM reconciliation
- Tenant billing
- Commercial property budgeting
- Lease Abstracts
- Performs monthly journal entries
- Compiles and prepares monthly financial statements
- Prepares general ledger reconciliations
- Performs monthly closing processes for properties
- Processes accounts receivables and accounts payables
- Responsible for administering accounting procedures, monitoring internal controls and database management

- Communicates on a daily basis with property management, asset managers, and/or property owners.
- Reports to Controller, CFO, and assists with any special projects/financial analysis.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial Real Estate accounting, commercial and/or multifamily experience required.
- Yardi property management software proficiency required.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate and work in a collaborative manner with a diverse team.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to hit set deadlines.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in accounting, business, finance, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university and/or equivalent property accounting experience is strongly preferred.
