JOB DESCRIPTION:

Take a leading role in Philadelphia’s largest commercial real estate research department as a Senior Research Analyst.

The main responsibilities are two-fold:

• Ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the department’s proprietary data and analysis, to be used for compelling publications and cutting edge-analysis. Provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

• Leads and/or assists in the production of market analysis and timely white papers addressing market trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinates the provision of information which is used to identify and define marketing opportunities for the organization and its sales professionals.

• Assists in the preparation and production of project/client presentations and reports, as well as quarterly market reports.

• Reviews and evaluates collected data results and makes appropriate recommendations.

• Responds to broker requests for data / research information.

• Manages and leads special projects as requested by the Director of Research and Analysis and senior management.

• Seeks end-user/internal client input regarding enhancements to existing research services and processes.

• May accompanies sales professionals as needed on client presentations and pitches, and act as market expert or act as a representative of the company’s research platform.

• Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year university and a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training.

• Master’s degree a plus.

• Background in economics is preferred.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

• None.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

• High degree of attention to detail required for accurate database management.

• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents.

• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.

• Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style.

• Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.

• Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

• Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.

• Ability to calculate complex figures.

• Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.

• Strong mathematical and numerical skills, particularly in relation to using Excel.

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.

• Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

• Understanding of economics.

• Understanding of mathematical concepts and ability to apply them in the pursuit of practical situations.

• Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledge of real estate terms, definitions, and real estate analytical methodology.

• Knowledge of Company research systems as well as internal and external information sources.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills.

• Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.

• Ability to effectively present information.

• Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles.
