Magnus Flaws & Company, PA, is an established CPA firm with offices in Brandon, Tampa, and Lutz, Florida. Our firm provides a full range of tax services to individuals, businesses, trusts, estates, and nonprofit organizations. We are seeking an experienced senior tax professional for return preparation and/or review.
One of our goals is to provide a pleasant work environment with great flexibility. Currently some of our valued senior staff would like to reduce their workload and work fewer hours. Therefore, we are looking to hire someone to help accomplish this goal. This could be your opportunity to join a firm that cares about their employees.
Our firm stays busy all year long. Accordingly, we are looking for someone to work throughout the year and ideally, stay with our firm for the long term. This is a part-time position that has both flexible working hours and the choice of working from home or one of our offices. It would be a good fit for a retired accountant or stay-at-home parent who desires to work and yet still have the freedom to take time off as desired.
This position requires the following knowledge and skill set.
- Preparation and review of small to medium size business tax returns as well as individual personal income tax returns.
- The ability to review QuickBooks and make adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Prepare year-end tax projections for our business clients.
- The ability to work self-sufficiently preparing returns from initial client contact to completion.
- The ability to do all the above without additional training from us. (Other than assistance with learning our software and systems.)
Qualifications:
- A minimum of seven years of business tax preparation experience with public accounting firms
- Must have a good understanding of income tax laws, rules, and regulations.
- A CPA certificate is not required, but preferable.
- Ability to research and document tax issues.
Compensation:
- $40 to $70 per hour depending on skill and experience
- Paid Vacation and Personal Days (Even for part-time work.)
