We are a privately-owned, small business, offering a flexible work schedule, in a casual, low-stress work environment for the right candidate. We are looking for a responsible person to handle a variety of Shipping, Inventory and Administrative Assistant tasks. Duties of the position include providing support to many areas of our business. The right person will be extremely detailed, able to multi-task and prioritize, as well as to switch between activities quickly, as the job requires.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Prepping, packing and shipping orders using the Quickbooks shipping module; counting inventory, packaging and labeling inventory, completing appropriate documentation, verifying UPS shipping invoices, maintaining appropriate filing systems. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills to assist with customer phone calls and online/email requests. The person should be able to use MS software tools, like MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe and general office equipment. The person should also be able to quickly learn a new software or program/application that becomes incorporated into the position.
This person should enjoy working independently to ensure efficient day-to-day shipping and general operation of our business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, pack and ship orders
- Pack and label inventory to appropriate stock levels
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Write email correspondence and create forms, labels etc
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
- Maintain a filing system
- Update and maintain office policies and procedures
- Provide general support to management
- Act as the point of contact for customers via phone or email
Skills
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant or shipping assistant
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and laptops
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- High School degree
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $15.00 to $25.00 /hour
Pay may depend on skills and/or qualifications
